Growing Together, Riding Together
It's another new month, and with it comes a few more changes, exciting opportunities and plenty to look forward to!
As we head into November, we'd like to take a moment to reflect on some of the things happening around Action Cycles, celebrate the people who make our community what it is, and give you a little glimpse of what's to come.
What's New(s) at Action Cycles?
A Heartfelt Thank You to Lu & The Grind
First and foremost, we'd like to say a very special thank you to Lu, our lovely barista, who has been part of the Action Cycles family throughout the years we've had our little coffee shop, The Grind.
Lu has been such a wonderful part of our team, and her presence, familiar face and friendly conversations have made The Grind what it was. She will be sorely missed by all of us, as well as the many customers who made a regular stop at our little coffee corner part of their routine.
To everyone who supported The Grind over the years, whether you popped in for your morning coffee, grabbed a bite to eat before a ride or simply enjoyed having a little place to catch up, we cannot thank you enough.
Although this chapter is coming to an end, we're incredibly grateful for the memories, friendships and connections that came with it. Thank you for being part of it!
Welcoming Our Newest Ambassadors!
On to some exciting news! We'd like to officially welcome Meg and Hishaan to the Action Cycles team as our newest ambassadors.
We're always looking for ways to grow, connect and create more opportunities for the cycling community, and we're excited to have these two on board.
Having more people involved means more ideas, more opportunities to bring people together and, hopefully, plenty of exciting things to look forward to.
We're already looking ahead and have some plans brewing for the year ahead, so keep your eyes peeled! We can't wait to share more with you.
Please join us in giving Meg and Hishaan a very warm welcome!
Double Century Season Is Here!
For many South African cyclists, November means one thing: Double Century season!
Whether you're taking on the challenge for the first time or you're a seasoned DC veteran, there's something special about this event. It's not just about the kilometres or the finish line; it's about teamwork, preparation, perseverance and the incredible atmosphere that comes from being part of something bigger than yourself.
To everyone getting ready to take on the 2026 Double Century, we wish you the very best! All those early mornings, training rides and hours spent in the saddle have led to this moment.
Remember to look after yourselves in these final weeks. Keep up with your training, prioritise recovery, stay on top of your nutrition and hydration, and make sure your bikes are ready for the big day.
And most importantly, enjoy it! The Double Century is as much about the experience and the people you share it with as it is about the ride itself.
Good luck to all the teams taking part. We'll be cheering you on!
