The 2026 Tour de France was another unforgettable edition of cycling's greatest race, delivering three weeks of breathtaking mountain battles, daring breakaways, dramatic sprint finishes, and incredible displays of endurance. One of the most memorable moments came when Tadej Pogačar launched a devastating attack on the legendary Col du Tourmalet, taking control of the race and laying the foundation for an historic fifth Tour de France title. He continued his dominance with another stunning victory on Alpe d'Huez, proving once again why he is regarded as one of the greatest cyclists of his generation.
The race also showcased the emergence of young talent, with Isaac del Toro riding fearlessly to claim third overall and the White Jersey, while Remco Evenepoel fought valiantly to secure his best-ever Tour finish in second place. Off the bike, the Tour faced an unexpected challenge as devastating wildfires in France forced organisers to shorten the final stage into Paris, making the finale unlike any in recent memory. Despite the changes, fans were treated to a thrilling finish as Mathieu van der Poel won a spectacular sprint on the Champs-Élysées after attacking on the final Montmartre climb.
The 2026 Tour will be remembered not only for Pogačar's record-equaling fifth victory, but also for its iconic mountain duels, the rise of cycling's next generation, and a dramatic conclusion that demonstrated the resilience of both the riders and the race itself.
